Dr. Miller was raised in Folsom, and graduated from St. Scholastica Academy. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Dr. Miller completed her internship in Nevada, which gave her the opportunity to work for several years with trained specialists in the areas of ultrasound, soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, emergency medicine and dermatology. These areas of veterinary medicine held a special interest for Dr. Miller.
Dr. Miller was an avid LSU fan, licensed horticulturist, camellia enthusiast, and had a lifetime of experience with animals. Goats, sheep, hunting dogs, cattle, horses, rabbits, birds, turtles, cats were all part of Dr. Miller’s life even before she could walk- no snakes please! Dr. Miller has a strong Catholic faith which means regularly attending St. Joseph’s Abbey and very frequently relying on St. Francis to guide in the care of God’s special creatures.
In addition to maintaining her veterinary practice, Dr. Miller also raises miniature horses, chickens, penguin ducks, and Texas longhorn cattle. She shared her home with Barbie her palomino pleasure horse, Jolie, Blanc, Armand, Ursula, Bianca, Vikor, her Frenchies, along with Fred, a blue-fronted Amazon who thinks he is a dog, and Alex the cat.
